Ramazan Sesler feat. Kaan Biyikoğlu

Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club, W1D 4HT , [Venue Details]

Virtuoso clarinettist Ramazan Sesler carries forward a three-generation musical legacy, blending the “Sesler” style of Turkish and Balkan music with the improvisation and colours of jazz.

Sunday,
10 May 2026
@8.00pm

The heir to his father Selim Sesler, often called the “Coltrane of the clarinet,” he has performed on prestigious stages including the Istanbul Jazz Festival, Musée du Quai Branly in Paris, and L’Arsenal – Cité musicale de Metz.

Joined by Kaan Bıyıkoğlu (piano), Enver Muhamedi (bass) and Ekin Cengizkan (drums), Sesler presents a unique fusion of subtle maqams, Balkan rhythms, and Bosphorus tavern repertoire with contemporary jazz sensibilities. The show entitled “From Father to Son, a Clarinet Legend” embodies both cultural heritage and evolving creativity, bridging tradition and modernity with every note.

A musical tradition spanning three generations, the refinement of the clarinet, and the sounds of jazz resonate in harmony.

Event with the kind support of the Yunus Emre Institute London.
